Hi Moms and Dads,
It is hard to imagine we are finishing up the second week of school already. It has been so much fun getting to know each of the boys. We have some video gamers, Lego fans, writers, and a few Transformer fanatics. I have yet to see the movie(s). So my homework for the weekend has been already laid out for me. Popcorn and Transformers. I think I will have to take notes. Maybe even make flashcards so I can know Bumblebee from Optimus Prime.
I sent home a few papers today, in the boy's agendas. The white paper has the access login to Power Schools. This is where you sign in to see your student's grades. I update grades online every Friday. However, I do not have access Power Schools as of yet so there are no grades to look at. I have them in an old fashioned grade book. Some other teachers are surprised paper grade books are still printed. I'm the oldest one on the team and it made me feel old.
Since next week is a very short week, we will not have a spelling or vocabulary test. We will be back on schedule the following week. We will be having open house on September 11, at 6:00 p.m. Students are not to attend so you might need to make arrangements.
It is such a privilege to teach with an amazing staff, at an amazing school with such an amazing group of boys.
Keep in touch!
